This post has been updated.
Even Danger Gals need to have fun once in a while. Take a look at the list below and vote for your favorite Fanged One. I am quite the connoisseur of vampire movies (and books, but that’s another poll).
Can one be a connoisseur of trashy vampire fiction? I aim to try.

I thought Pitt was better than Cruise in IWTV, but I really wish Rutger Hauer had been young enough to play Lestat, since that’s who Rice had in mind when she was writing those books.

I agree. I also think the make-up people on Dracula 2000 made a mess of Gerard Butler’s performance. The teeth were too big for him and in general costume and makeup played against his performance. Butler’s screen test, which he did right after making Attila, had Gary Oldman’s creepiness, but actually with sex appeal. In the final cut he did deliver the line “Everything I have is yours,” much better than he did in the audition though.
So now you know who I voted for. Since I own the blog, I voted twice though.

I just realized that I completely forgot to include Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the poll. Oh well.

Despite the fact that the movie sucked and Gerry’s fake teeth were too big, there is NOTHING like (1) his strut in the record store - YOWZA or (2) his *scene* with Lucy on the bed and ceiling - THUD!!

oh yes, the Strut and the Ceiling Tango. Those two scenes are definitely highlights of that movie. I really got a kick out of the DVD extras when they yank him out of the water in the scene with Jeri Ryan and he yells “fooking hell!” right after the cut.

I think Gerards was best out of all of them. Kiefer, Wesley, and Brad are good too but Gerard beats them all

I loved david and james on buffy/angel. Watched the shows all the time. Saw blade, interview with a vampire, and lost boys. Keifer creeped me out a bit. Maybe it was the eyes. Found Brad and Tom somewhat bland as vamps. But none of them have nothing on Gerry. Yes, i agree the movie was not that great but he was one sexy vampire.

For the record, I deliberately left out Todd Oldman, because his Dracula was just creepy without the sexy. I liked him better as Sirius Black in Harry Potter.
However, I can’t believe that I forgot Mark Frankel from Kindred the Embraced and Geraint Wyn Davies from Forever Knight. I guess we’ll just have to have another vote.
Also, I didn’t know about Kyle Schmid in Lifetime’s Blood Ties. Evidently they’re on their second season and this is the first I’ve heard about it.

Oh and Dark Shadows (1 and 2)!
To Nikki: My first real dose of vampire stuff was from The Lost Boys. I thought Kiefer was scarysexycool, but now that I look at it again those eyes are indeed a bit creepy.

OK, IS IT JUST ME, OR IS KYLE SCHMID, SEXIER THAN ALL THESE OTHER GUYS. NOT THAT THEY DIDN’T DO A WONDERFUL JOB, BUT KYLE, JUST BRINGS SOMETHING MORE TO IT.
